These fun drink coasters may just look like an abstract dot pattern on the surface, but thanks to some cleverly placed perforations, you can actually make your own custom pixel creations out of them.

Each coaster is made up of 110 individual 1cm square “pixels” which are perfed in a way that lets you selectively remove blocks from each square. Through what sort of amounts to “pixel sculpting”, you can create your own personalized designs.

They come in a stack of 50 coasters, which start out conjoined into a 500cm (almost 200″) long chain which can be broken apart into individual pieces. Each square has a random arrangement of color shades, so each coaster is just a little different from the next one.

They’re made from a resilient paper fiber that should hold up to the condensation you might get on the bottom of your cup, or the occasional spill. In addition to the blue palette (which I prefer), there’s also a hot pink version if you’re looking for something a bit more girly.

At this point Pixel Coasters are only available from Taiwanese design retailer 25togo, I’m hoping somebody eventually imports these to the States. A pack of 50 coasters sells for 260 Taiwan Dollars, or just about $8 bucks.

The mobile phone wars continue on relentlessly with no truce in sight, and now HTC has some real heavyweight firepower backing up their Touch Diamond with the HTC Touch Pro both aimed at dominating the Windows Mobile world.
The HTC Touch Pro is an all-rounder mobile phone with navigation and multimedia as just a part of its arsenal; a mobile handset that holds the premise to become the most complete Windows Mobile powered handset to date.
The closes spec sheet to the HTC Touch Pro is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and they both run Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Now if you take into consideration that HTC manufacture both the Touch Pro and the Xperia X1, they could be considered close clones.

How would you like the Palm Centro smartphone in a lime or Rose colour? Well, well if either of these funky colour’s whet your appetite and you are on the Sprint network you could get your hands on one next month.
We must say that the Palm Centro must be hugely successful if it’s already producing the same smartphone in a variety of colours! Motorola has been a role model, when showing off the success of a handset by producing several colours - take the original Motorola RAZR for instance.
So if you don’t want to go for the original Palm Centro colour, then these two new colours maybe just perfect for you.

Other than maybe one of those giant glitzy wresting belts, I can’t think of a more rockin’ thing to wear around your waist than one of these nifty retro video game belt buckles.

Handmade by artist Natalie Hutcheson (aka “HutchMe”), these metal buckles don imagery of famous icons of classic arcade games. While the Donkey Kong buckle is my personal favorite, Ms. Pac-Man comes in a close second.

Each buckle is crafted from sturdy brass-toned metal, inlaid with sparkly metallic game graphics. The designs are then coated with a durable industrial epoxy finish to keep them from scratching up as you lean against your favorite arcade machine as you pump in quarter after quarter.

Of course, if actual size pixels aren’t your thing, you can always pick up this giant-sized purple Space Invader, which can certainly be seen from a much greater distance.

So if you’re tired of looking un-cool with your plain old brass buckle, head on over to HutchMe’s Etsy store to get your hands on one of these for $18 a pop.

This homemade Pong watch will entertain you with retro gaming moves while informing you of the time.

The idea is inspired by Buro Vormkrijgers and his Pong Clock. You can’t control the game, but rather it’s a Pong game in which every minute the right side scores a point, and each hour the left side scores a point. The effect is that the score of the game is the time.

John Maushammer has spent a fair amount of time and energy on this, and has thoughfully shared not only a build log, but also, the technical plans and a whole series of movies showing the progress. Check out this nifty demo video to take a closer look at the watch.
This is hot, hot, so very very hot! And how much do you love the name “Maushammer?”

The simple word Google and everyone knows what you are talking about, everyone loves to Google-it! But as other technology companies start moving in on the consumer love, is the love for Google fading?
Technology inspires enthusiasm amongst millions of consumers who love the products that companies like Apple, Nintendo and Sony bring into the market. People like something for nothing and that’s why we have been drawn to Google, we have Google Docs, Google Earth and now Chrome. Another draw is privacy between Google and its user, but is it all getting to much?
Google’s Eric Schmidt said earlier this year he wants the user to be able to ask the question “What job shall I take?” or “What shall I do tomorrow?” or and Google will know you so well that it will give you the answer. But is Google turning into a dominant media giant taking on companies like Microsoft and lose its familiar grounding and user love?
